Martin Ervin

Hip Hop

Martin Ervin has danced since the age of 7.  He found his continued love for dance and performance with his high school cheer team, then later with his high school dance team. In 2005 he began formal training in Ballet, Modern, and Jazz dance styles with Columbia Dance Center in Vancouver WA.  He then performed as a company member from 2006-2008, While he continued to cheer at Clark College he continued his hip hop training at Groove Nation Academy. In 2008 Martin trained at the summer dance program at Harbor Dance Center in Vancouver B.C. then returned and danced on scholarship at The Young Americans College of Performing Arts where he studied: Music, Stage Performance, Dance and Stage Production. Martins professional career includes tours across the United States and Japan.

Martin has been a member of numerous dance crews including: Kryptic Dance Crew, Drish Dance Crew, and LYFE Dance Company, while continuing to create vibrant choreography in the Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary dance styles. He currently teaches at local studios in the Vancouver and Portland area, and is the Hip Hop Director at Fired UP Dance Academy.

Martin is passionate about dance accessibility, and believes everyone should have the chance and access to dance no matter what. He is very thankful for the opportunity and ability to share something that he loves the most with a community that is warm and accepting. Martins’ goal in life is to be able to reach the whole world with his passion through dance, along with learning a dance style from every country in the world.
